You can Email invoice from Tally Prime using your Gmail or Yahoo mail account with a few clicks. To know how to email invoice from Tally Prime, you have to setup your email for third party apps. This facility is available for both Gmail and Yahoo. You have to do a few settings in your email account and Tally as well which I am going to discuss and it is done. To email invoice you have to press Ctrl +M after making your invoice and its sent. Let’s explore the full process of sending emails from Tally.

The first step to email invoice from Tally Prime is to setup your email account. You have to ensure that you have enabled POP/IMAP account setting of your Gmail or Yahoo account.
Just open your Gmail account and click on Setting on top right hand corner and then press See all setting.
Here enable POP/IMAP setting. Here check for status of POP. Generally it is enabled but if not then enable it by clicking the radio button of enable POP for mails that arrives from now on
Now go to google account settings and here search for term “app password“. Here give the name of app as Tally and click generate password. some random number would be generated. It would be your app password which would work in Tally. Take a screen shot or write password at a safe place from where you can access it easily.
Configuring ledgers in Tally.
Now come to Tally and insure that every ledger is having perfect contact details. Under provide contact details option in Tally Prime, in email column you should have email address of the party.
If you can’t see the contact detail option then you have to open that option from F12. In F12 menu of create/Alter ledger you have to put Provide contact details option to yes.
Setup email id in Tally
In Tally go to mail configuration by pressing Alt + M and then configuration.
Create a profile
Select Gmail or Yahoo as per your email id. The sample Gmail configuration is shown below
Now you are ready for email any report in Tally with your Gmail or Yahoo account. So with these settings now you can directly email invoice from Tally. Invoice in Tally can be emailed in pdf format, excel format, jpeg/jpg format etc.
In configuration of email just type format and now you can choose the the format.
